CSA Program

The idea behind Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is to create a mutually beneficial relationship between the farmer and community members, by helping the farmers (us) to manage some of the upfront production costs, like seeds and land rental, and giving members (that's you) access to affordable, high-quality produce with a direct connection to where some of your food is coming from. 

We commit to providing you with our best seasonal, organically grown fresh produce for 18 weeks, from mid-June to mid-October. You commit to sharing the risks and rewards of farming by paying for your shares in advance.

Microgreens shares are available all year and grown to order.

• We grow sustainably using no/low-till practices 

• We use compostable or reusable containers instead of single use plastic bags.

• At less than 2km away from Guelph city limits, you can't get more local than us. ;)

• Your support will help us continue to sell to The Seed at wholesale prices and donate to their free market.

If you are going to be away, let us know in advance that you are gifting that week's share to a friend. If you are taking your friends with you, let us know that too and feel good about donating the week's produce to The Seed. As a thank you for your donation, you can pick a couple of items more from the table the next time.

The small share is for one or two adults or a small family with 4 to 5 items (about $30 in value).

The regular share is for families of four to six people with slightly larger amounts of 5 to 8 items (about $50 in value).

If the share contains specialty items like okra, bitter melon, shishito peppers, etc., we will add a recipe card to give you ideas on what to do with it.

Weekly and biweekly shares are available for both sizes.

The microgreens add-on shares  provide one box each week added to the produce shares. You can let us surprise you or choose from Pea, Sunflower, Radish, Broccoli or Crunchy Mix.

This is separate from the monthly subscriptions available year-round. A one-time returnable container deposit ($0.50) is included in the price of the microgreens subscription and will only be charged once as long as the box and lid are returned..

If you don't think you will use an item in your box, you are welcome to ask to swap it out for another during pick-up at the add-on / swap table. This option is available for one or two items per week, and we are happy to chat and give you ideas on how to use the items in the weekly share.

Since this is our first year running a CSA, we will decide on the option that works best (door delivery or pick up at the Thursday Guelph Farmers' Market) once we have a majority of the shares allocated for the year (make sure to let us know your preference when you sign up). If the majority choose to pick-up, we can offer an add-on and swap table. 

This will be finalized by the first week of May and all shareholders will be contacted to ensure comfort with the plan.

Absolutely. While we only use compost teas, neem oil and other natural products when needed on our plants and adhere to the Canadian organic standards at minimum (we are not certified), produce and microgreens are usually harvested less than 24 hours before pickup and are not washed. While we do our best to ensure minimal soil transfer, please thoroughly wash all produce and microgreens before use to remove residual soil or seed hulls.
